• Walter Hunt  was a New York mechanic, who in 1849 , sat wondering how he could pay his small debt. 
• Spent around 3 hours twisting wire with his fingers before he created the answer to his problem , came the safety pin 
• This useful object is found in all household across the planet .
• Even gained status as a fashion accessory, with Punk movement of 1970s.
• His creation was unique as it provides a solution to potential problem pricking oneself with the old-style variety 
• His design was patented in April 1849
• He sold rights to his creditor , clearing a $385 profit. 
• It is also said that he invented America's 1st sewing machine  with an eye pointed needle but he did not patent his idea 
• Remember ,a safety pin is also a defensive material like a pepper spray .
